Our Philosophy
Sequoia’s philosophy is: “Play is the child’s work.” Our emphasis is on self-directed play with hands-on experiences.

Our Program
We work with monthly themes, exploring developmentally-appropriate topics that incorporate many activities, such as:
- Art and science projects
- Stories, songs, circle time
- Manipulative materials
- Blocks, puzzles, games
- Puppets and dramatic play
- Outdoor play in our spacious play area, which includes climbing structures, a playhouse, a sandbox, and tricycles
- Visits from groups such as the East Bay Vivarium, Oakland Zoo, Oakland firefighters, local musicians, and others reflecting the talents of our families
